N'western, Tamaqua runners pull off sweeps

Northwestern and Tamaqua both pulled off sweeps in cross country action on Tuesday.

CROSS COUNTRYPleasant Vy.-Northampton-NazarethThe Pleasant Valley boys picked up wins over Northampton (21-38) and Nazareth (22-33) but fell to Easton (19-44).Gabe Sullivan led the Bears with a second place overall finish in 17:03, just behind Easton's Kevin Lapansky, who took first with a time of 16:54.In the girls' meet, Pleasant Valley was swept by Easton (15-50), Northampton (23-34) and Nazareth (26-33).Lizz Eberhardt paced the Lady Bears with a 10th place finish in 20:34.
