Robert Breslin of Breslin and Ridyard, Allentown architects, reported to the Carbon County home building authority that construction of the new county home in Weatherly is nearing completion and that the facility will be opened next month.

The 200-bed home, being constructed at a cost of about $6-million, will replace the obsolete 100-year-old home at Laurytown. The new home is located in Weatherly, near the elementary school.Breslin said Weatherly Borough has installed a new water line to the home and storage tanks are now being filled, with the final steps of the project to be installation of an emergency electrical service at the home.
