Services set for man killed in W. Penn crash

Services have been announced for the man who was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday night in West Penn Township.

Nathan Dean "Nate" Wentz, 26, of N. Harrity Road, Parryville was the son of Jeff D. and Lorraine G. (Hurley) Wentz with whom he resided. He was a member of the 2007 graduating class of Lehighton Area High School.

He had been employed as an assembler at Blue Mountain Machine Shop in Lehighton. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church of North Weissport.

He loved fishing, riding his motorcycle, and target shooting.

Besides his parents, he is survived by sisters, Tara, wife of Daniel Goss of Northampton; Chelsea G. Wentz of Lehighton; paternal grandmother, Helen R. Wentz of Lehighton; maternal grandparents, Marvin "Mike" and Vilma J. Hurley of Jim Thorpe; niece, Ariana; nephew, Maddox and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfather Clair E. Wentz.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 222 Church St., N. Weissport, Lehighton with the Rev. John P. Hassler officiating.

Viewing will be 9 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery, N. Weissport, Lehighton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be sent to his church.
