A Palmerton man was killed Saturday evening in a crash along Route 309 in West Penn Township.

The crash occurred just after 7 p.m. about a mile south of Tamaqua. The biker was traveling south when he attempted to pass and contacted another vehicle making him lose control. He came to rest in the northbound lanes.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a Schuylkill County deputy coroner. West Penn Township police are investigating the incident.
