A Carbon County driver was involved in a one-vehicle crash in Luzerne County. State police at Hazleton said the crash occurred at 3:15 p.m. Saturday at the off ramp of Interstate 81 to Route 93 in Sugarloaf Township.

Troopers said Robert E. Sims, 31, of Weatherly, was driving a 1994 Honda Accord on the ramp when he failed to negotiate a right curve in the road, causing him to lose control. The Honda traveled onto the berm where it struck a traffic sign and a group of large boulders. It then continued on into a ditch and rolled over onto its driver’s side.Sims sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene. Damages were termed heavy to the Honda, which was towed from the scene.Troopers cited Sims for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.
