Graduates from Misericordia

Misericordia University, Dallas, recently recognized six students in the doctor of physical therapy program for going above and beyond their required course load.

Six third-year DPT students completed certification in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment BIG, a specialty program designed to train rehabilitation therapists in an evidence-based treatment approach for individuals with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological disorders.Students include Kaitlyn Wisser of Saylorsburg and Cailin McCullion of Nesquehoning.They attained certification in LSVT BIG through LSVT Global in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, in June. In LSVT BIG therapy, patients complete a high repetition of full body movements with a substantial amount of force, to counter the loss or reduction of large-scale movements caused by Parkinson’s and other disorders.The students are scheduled to complete the six-and-a-half year DPT program and earn their doctor of physical therapy degrees at Misericordia in December.
