Lehighton Area School Board approved the following transactions this week.
• Approved a three-year agreement with the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit for Edmentum Products and Services for $13,116 each year.• Approved an agreement for the CLIU Overdrive Consortium for the 2015-16 school year at a cost of $2,000.• Approved the purchase of a 2016 Ford Transit Wagon from Scott Gibson Hondru Ford through the COvSTAR purchasing program at a cost not to exceed $28,000.• Approved an agreement with the Lehigh Law Enforcement Officers Association for security services at athletic events, school dances, graduation and homecoming events at $18 per hour.• Accepted the resignations of Sarah Nonnemacher, assistant cheerleading coach; and Richard Haberman, part-time cleaner.• Approved the hirings of Kali Andrew, middle school nurse, $38,740; Jessica Schafer, long-term high school music teacher, $39,885; James Fox, Ellen Paez and Mildred Shuck, part-time cleaners, $7.47 per hour; Valence Fedor and Angela Stuckley, lunchtime aide, $7.25 per hour.• Approved a winter credit recovery program for high school students at a cost not to exceed $150 per class using the APEX learning system for 15 two-hour sessions after the first semester. Students will pay the cost of the class.• Approved SAT prep classes for English and math at the high school.• Approved Keystone and PSSA test after-school tutoring programs to be held at the high school from 2:30-4:30 on Tuesday and Thursday starting in September.• Senior Keystone credit remediation for all seniors not advanced or proficient on the Keystone exams will be offered in November 2015.
