August 20, 1941 - A big game at the plate and on the mound by Mickey Gazdick lifts Lansford to an 11-2 victory over Mauch Chunk. Gazdick pitches a three-hitter in his seven innings of work. Offensively, he collects three hits, two RBIs and scores a pair of runs. Marty Marek finishes with two hits, one a grand slam homer, and knocks in six runs. The winners, who break the game open with an eight-run fifth inning, also receive a hit and run scored from "Toss" Ponting and Joe Fignar.
