Carbon County ARDs

Nine first-time offenders were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on Tuesday by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

The record is wiped clean for a person who successfully completes all conditions of the program. However, a person who fails to complete it, will face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Deibi Frank Amigon, 23, of Brooklyn, New York, was placed on a driving under the influence charge. He was arrested on May 20, 2014, along Route 940 in Kidder Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 for the cost of the program and his license was suspended for 60 days.Franckeska Diana Diaz, 22, of Hazle Township, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Feb. 11 along Main Street by Weatherly police. A test showed 0.21 BAC. She was assessed $600 and her license suspended for 60 days.Andrew Ryan Dilks, 22, of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on June 8, 2013, along Route 940 in Kidder Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 and his license suspended for 60 days.Mark Russell Focht, 35, of Tamaqua, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of a controlled substance-marijuana. He was arrested on April 25 2014, in the area of 25 W. Columbus Ave. by Nesquehoning police.He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment.Nicholas A. Kopp, 29, of Lansford, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Jan. 17 along Abbott Street by Lansford police. A test shohwed 0.17 BAC.He was assessed $550 and his license suspended for 60 days.Tyler Rogers, 19, of Walnutport, was placed for six months on a possession of marijuana charge. He was arrested on Sept. 4, 2014, by Mahoning Township police along Blakeslee Boulevard following a traffic stop.He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a D&A evaluation.Anthony Francis Sorokaput, 30, of Lansford, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on March 14 along Bertsch Street by Lansford police. A test showed 0.31 BAC.He was assessed $550 and his license was suspended for 60 days.Richard E. Strawcutter, 53, of Albrightsville, was placed on a charge of terroristic threats. He was arrested on May 14 by state police at Lehighton for an incident at 449 W. Lizard Creek Road in East Penn Township, with Valerie Balliet the listed victim.He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a mental health evaluation, pay restitution of $682 and have no contact with Balliet.Joshua Michael Vacula, 22, of Tamaqua, was placed for a year on a charge of possession of marijuana. He was arrested on April 1 along Main Street by Weatherly police. He was stopped for speeding, 52 mph in a 35 zone.He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a D&A evaluation and zero tolerance imposed on D&A use.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
