Frederick T. Bausch, assistant superintendent of schools in the Tamaqua Area School District for the past six years, was named acting superintendent by the district's board of directors.

Bausch will replace retiring Superintendent Raymond C. Kinder, who announced his retirement effective Jan. 4, 2000.A resident of Pottsville, Bausch previously served as principal of the Tamaqua Junior High School for six years.
