Attorney general: Charges tied to porn emails

HARRISBURG (AP) - The latest on the criminal case against Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane:

Pennsylvania's top prosecutor says in her first statement since being criminally charged that she's the victim of an effort to conceal pornographic and racially insensitive emails.

In a prepared statement Wednesday, Attorney General Kathleen Kane traces the case against her to the pornographic email scandal involving prosecutors and judges, which she exposed. She says far more people are involved.

Kane has been charged with leaking grand jury information to a newspaper reported as payback to a former state prosecutor and then lying about it under oath.

She says she intends to fight the charges against her. She says her defense will be that she broke no laws, not that she's a victim of an old-boy network.
