New York man, wanted in Carbon, is jailed

When Pocono Mountain Regional Police responded to a domestic disturbance at 10:21 a.m. Aug. 9 at the Mountain Top Lodge in Pocono Pines, police said they apprehended a New York man who was wanted in Carbon County on robbery charges.

Police said James Archer Jr., 37, was committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility in Snydersville, on the active warrant in Carbon.Police said when they arrived at the scene, they found a man and woman having an argument, at which time Archer identified himself to police as a James Cassady. Police said the woman had injuries to her left arm.It was later determined the man was Archer, who police said resisted efforts by police to take him into custody.He was charged with flight to avoid apprehension, simple assault, false identification to law enforcement, resisting arrest and harassment.
