Weatherly police, along with agents of the Attorney General's office, Bureau of Narcotics, the county drug task force, state game commission officers and Norfolk Southern Railroad officials executed a search warrant on July 29 at 740 North St. and 605 E. Second St. after a year-long investigation.
It was found that Thomas M. Suveg, 51, and William F. Vanriper, 63, both of Weatherly, were growing marijuana in a clearing just off Norfolk property in Banks Township.At one point 90 marijuana plants were growing in the area.After a search of both residences, marijuana and items used to grow and care for marijuana were removed from the both homes.Suveg and Vanriper are facing various drug counts. A total of 80 marijuana plants were recovered.
