State police at Fern Ridge are investigating an apparent phone scam attempt involving a Monroe County female as the targeted victim.

Troopers said a female from Blakeslee received calls from an individual posing as a PPL representative.The calls came from 855-462-8978 and 877-571-7111.The caller requested the female to pay her energy bill via a prepaid credit card.The female suspected fraudulent activity and notified troopers.Anyone with additional information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 570-646-2271.
