The new school year is just around the corner and it's time for the Tamaqua Elementary Parent Teacher Organization to ramp up efforts on behalf of the students.The first meeting of the 2015-2016 school year is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Aug. 18, in the Tamaqua elementary School library.Parents and guardians of all Tamaqua Elementary students are welcome to attend.High school schedulesStephen Toth, Tamaqua Area High School principal, has announced that student schedules will be available for students in grades nine through 12, as of Aug. 10. Students may pick up their class schedules in the high school's main office, Monday through Friday, from 8 to 3 p.m.Calvary EvangelicalAll services and activities for Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church in the Lewistown Valley will be held at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle, 614 Valley Road, through Labor Day.The Rev. Ed Bean will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. worship service this Sunday. It's Ride Your Wheels To Church Sunday.
