The Carbon County Environmental Education Center will host a program for mushroom enthusiasts. "Shroomer Sunday" will take place at 9 a.m. this Sunday.

Mycologist Laura Weishaupt will present the program, which includes an indoor lecture and a hike on easy walking trails.Though edibility will be discussed, the program will focus on mushroom ecology, and on learning to identify and understand members of the bolete family, known as "spongy mushrooms."The program is open to all ages and interest levels.For directions, more information, or to register, call the environmental education center at 570-645-8597.The program is free to CCEEC members. A $5 donation is requested of nonmembers.
