A Tamaqua man has been cited for a purse snatching incident on July 29.

The victim told police she was helping her daughter get out of a school van on Hazle Street, at 3:25 p.m.She left her wallet on the porch bannister of her house as she went to the sidewalk.At that point Anthony Valentine, 22, of 311 Penn St., Tamaqua, grabbed the wallet, then ran to a car that was parked two blocks away.As he was running, he dropped a set of keys.While the victim didn't see Valentine take the wallet, another woman did witness the theft.The keys were returned to Valentine's father. The son was charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and disorderly conduct.
