August 3, 1981 Rudy Butterworth pitches a one-hitter to lead Tamaqua to a 14-1 victory over Franklin Township in the Panther Valley Little League Tournament. Butterworth strikes out eight and doesn't walk a batter. The Tamaqua hurler also hits a grand slam during a nine-run first inning. Keith Wunderlick contributes a pair of homers, including a three-run shot in the second frame, while Rich Wentz collects three hits and an RBI. The winners also receive two hits from A.J. Caldonetti.
