Two men sought by Tamaqua police

Tamaqua police have requested arrest warrants for Ryan Samuel Fulton, 22, and Gary Cieniawa, 26, both of 321 Washington St., Tamaqua, after an assault incident on July 22.

Officers were dispatched to 18 S. Railroad St. at 10:37 p.m. for an assault in progress. The report indicated one of the assailant's was armed with a knife. At the scene they found a man lying on the railroad tracks with scratches and scrapes on his left arm and stomach. The victim said Fulton and a male he didn't know hit him and stole his backpack and money. It was the unknown male who held a knife to his neck.A search of the area was conducted but was unsuccessful. The victim refused medical treatment.On July 25 a witness came forward and was able to identify Cieniawa. He said he was walking home from work Tuesday and saw the victim sitting on a wagon near the tracks. He saw the other two men pull the victim from the wagon and begin hitting and kicking him. In the struggle the knife was dropped and the witness picked it up and threw it so it couldn't be used. He took police to the spot where he threw the knife and it was recovered.Anyone with information on the whereabouts of either man is asked to contact police at 570-668-5000.
