Braves earn split

The Berlinsville Braves split their last two contests in Blue Mountain League action this week

BLUE MOUNTAIN LEAGUEBerlinsville-NorthamptonNorthampton jumped out to a 4-1 lead after the first inning and held off a late Berlinsville rally and claim a 7-5 win.The Braves had the tying runs at second and third base with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning, but Darron Whitmore recorded back-to-back strikeouts to preserve the victory. Whitmore also had a fine day at the plate for the Giants, going 3-for-3 with two runs batted in.Cody Krupa paced the Berlinsville offense, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a walk. Bruce Breithaupt and Kyle Lupas each had two hits in the loss.Easton-BerlinsvilleThe Braves scored all three of their runs in the first two innings and held on for a 3-2 win over the Falcons for their eighth win.Zach Palansky was the winning pitcher allowing just two earned runs throwing a complete game.Kyle Lupas had two hits and drove in a run.PANTHER VALLEY LL TOURNAMENTFranklin Twp. Blue-Franklin Twp. GrayFranklin Township Blue pounded out 14 hits en route to a 15-5 victory over Franklin Township Gray.Leading the way for Franklin Blue was Brandon Kocher, who had three hits, including a home run. Drew Lorenz, Collin Bollinger and Lucas Zerbe had two hits apiece. Devon Haydt also had a home run in the victory.For Franklin Gray, Hunter Crum had a three run home run.
