Man jailed in assault incident

A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Sunday following an assault incident in which he attempted to strike another individual with his vehicle.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Jerome Franklin Kimmel, 40, of Auburn used his Toyota Tercel in an attempt to strike his tenant atGreen Tree Drive, Auburn, West Brunswick Township.Kimmel was charged with aggravated and simple assault, terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person. He was arraigned before on-call District Judge Anthony Kilker of Shenandoah and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $25,000 straight cash bail.Troopers said a subsequent investigation is pending involving the tenants' residence being shot multiple times with a high powered rifle, while the tenants' three dogs were inside. The investigation is currently ongoing with possible charges pending.
