A young woman was injured Monday afternoon when involved in a single vehicle crash along Route 248. The crash occurred at 5 p.m. as she was traveling west just before the Bowmanstown exit.

For some unknown reason she lost control striking the center Jersey barrier then crossed back across the roadway leaving the right berm impacting with the guardrail. The west bound lanes were reduced to one lane by fire police.

State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
