Man guilty of endangerment in chase spawned by deer-baiting

TUNKHANNOCK, Pa. (AP) - A northeastern Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment for driving up to 100 mph chasing a man accused of baiting deer, who died when he crashed.

The attorney for 30-year-old Lucas Harley Davidson stressed that Thursday's endangerment plea in Wyoming County stemmed from other motorists who were put at risk, not from the December death of the other motorist, 53-year-old Stephen Sudosky Jr., of Reyburn.

Authorities determined Sudosky was the aggressor even though Davidson, of Meshoppen, chased him before the crash. That's why Davidson was not charged in connection with Sudosky's death, a decision that doesn't sit well with the dead man's family.

Sudosky's sister, Denise Hackling, says, "We shouldn't have to go to a grave to see him now."

Davidson faces up to 2 years in prison when he's sentenced.
