Subaru sustains disabling damages

A Jim Thorpe man escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 7:55 p.m. July 12 on Interstate 80 in Tunkhannock Township.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said Charles E. Fey, 62, was driving a 2012 Subaru Forester westbound in the area of mile marker 287.6 when a deer entered the roadway. Police said the car struck the deer with its front end, then traveled off the roadway onto the right shoulder. The car sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene.
