Cases waived to county court

Winding up the dozens of preliminary hearings scheduled before District Judge Stephen Bayer of Tamaqua on June 30 are the cases that were waived directly to the county court level.

Michael Pitta, 42, of 100 Pitt St., Tamaqua, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving without a license. The charges were filed by Tamaqua patrolman Matthew Houser after a Nov. 15, 2014 incident.His bail was modified from $30,000 to $3,000 percentage.Anthony Joseph Napolitano, 30, of 411 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The substance count was withdrawn and the paraphernalia charge was waived. The charges stem from a March 1 incident and were filed by Rush Township patrolman Jeffrey Tanner.Napolitano was also charged by Tamaqua patrolman Brigdon Odhner after a May 30 incident. The charges were possession of a controlled substance, which was waived, and driving with a suspended license, which was withdrawn.His bail remained at $10,000.Heather Lee Pryce, 33, of 10 Cherry St., Tamaqua, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license after an April 17 incident in Tamaqua. The charges were filed by patrolman Joseph Krebs. The driving while suspended charge was withdrawn.She was released on her own recognizance.Natalie Marie Ohl, 21, of 427 Willing St., Tamaqua, waived a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, which was filed by Odhner after a May 30 incident.Ohl also waived a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia filed by Tanner. A count of possession of a controlled substance was withdrawn. The charges stem from a March 1 incident.She was released on her own recognizance.Joseph Anthony Komar, 21, of 216 First St., Weatherly waived charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance (three counts) and violating vehicle equipment standards. The charges were filed by Rush Township patrolman Alexander Kosatschkow after a Sept. 23, 2014, incident.He was released on his own recognizance.Jasmine M. Yaich, 30, of 131 North Ave., Jim Thorpe, waived charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges stem from a Jan. 8 incident and were filed by Coaldale patrolman Joseph David.She was released on her own recognizance.
