Charles J. McBride, 24, of Pocono Summit, has been arrested by Pocono Mountain Regional Police on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol as a result of an incident at 9:57 p.m. Saturday in the Pocono Farms East community.

Police said they saw McBride driving a vehicle that failed to stop at several stop signs and accelerated after the officer activated emergency lighting equipment on his patrol car. He stopped only after nearly crashing the Honda Civic while attempting to make a left turn.Police said he failed several field sobriety tests and was transported to the Monroe County DUI Center for processing.
