Jose Elias, 24, of Guatemala, was taken to the Monroe County Correctional Facility in Snydersville, on various charges after he crashed a stolen vehicle while under the influence of alcohol at 6:53 p.m. May 17 on Route 115, near Murphy's Loft in Monroe County.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police said they located Elias hiding in the woods in an intoxicated state. Police also learned the vehicle he crashed had been stolen.He was arrested on charges of DUI, auto theft, unauthorized use of a vehicle, driving without a license and leaving the scene of an accident.
