The Summit Hill 18250 Adult Summer Basketball League recently kicked off its season. The league, under the leadership of officers Brian Dolena, Shaun Midas, and Dave McAndrew, will feature four teams with players from the Panther Valley and Tamaqua areas. League action will take place Thursday and Sunday evenings at the Ginter Field Basketball Courts.

Thursday, July 2Parambo's Funeral-Miller ContractingJake Szczecina scored five of his team's seven points in overtime to lead Parambo's Funeral Home to a 54-51 win in the league's tipoff.Tied at 47 at the end of regulation, Szczecina started OT off with a three, one of nine made by Parambo's for the game. Szczecina paced Parambo's with 12 points. Marques Middleton and Nick Edmonds, who both tallied 11 points, led SCK in scoring.
