Man cited for trashing Coaldale hospital bed

An incident at St. Luke's Hospital-Miners Campus in Coaldale earned a Lansford man a number of citations.

Officers were dispatched to the hospital early in the morning on June 8 to assist Lansford Police with a man who was in custody for assaulting an emergency medical technician while being transported to the medical facility.The man was identified as Michael R. Zuber, 29, of 2 East Ridge St., Lansford.Police said Zuber was extremely intoxicated and continued causing a disturbance, despite repeated efforts by the officers to calm him down.At one point, he began picking up the trauma stretcher and dropping it to the floor, breaking it.He resisted arrest and had to forcibly be taken into custody.Zuber was charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and public drunkenness.The hospital bed is valued at $10,931.60.
