Monroe man jailed following domestic

A Monroe County man was jailed this week following a domestic incident involving a relative.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said at 7:30 p.m. Monday officers were dispatched to a residence on Main Street in Tobyhanna for a domestic dispute. On scene the victim told officers William Holmes, 21, ripped the driver's side mirror off her vehicle and threw it at a front glass window on the residence, which broke the window into various pieces, some of which struck the victim.He then entered the home and broke a ceramic lamp as well as a plywood door. Holmes ran off before the arrival of police, but returned a short time later.He was arrested on charges of simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief. It was then learned that Holmes had an active warrant for his arrest issued to Northampton County sheriff's department for failure to appear for a court proceeding.Holmes was arraigned before a district judge with bail set at $50,000. He was placed in the county prison in Snydersville on the outstanding warrant and failure to post bail.
