Police issue warrant for SH woman

Nesquehoning police have issued a felony arrest warrant for a Summit Hill woman who brought drugs into Carbon County's prison after being arrested in another borough for an unrelated incident the night before.

Nesquehoning Police Chief Sean Smith said that police are looking for Danielle Eremus, 27, of 22 E. Hazard St., who was charged with one count each possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts unlawful possession of a controlled substance, after prison corrections officers found drugs on her and in her cell.Eremus stands 5-foot, 4-inches tall; and weighs approximately 127 pounds; has blond or strawberry hair and blue eyes.According to the affidavit, Smith was notified by the prison just before 1 p.m. May 19 that they had discovered contraband on a female resident. He was told that the inmate, identified as Eremus, was arrested on May 18 by Palmerton Police Department for an unrelated incident and being lodged in the prison. While conducting the intake procedures, which includes a strip search, the corrections officer learned that Eremus had a used syringe in her underwear. The next morning, while doing a search of Eremus' cell, officers also found an empty Suboxone strip packet under her mattress.Smith made contact with Palmerton police regarding Eremus' arrest, and he was told that Eremus had been asked multiple times by police if she had any contraband and she said she did not.Smith then spoke with Eremus, who said she had forgotten that she had the syringe in her underwear when she was arrested and didn't remember about it until she was being strip searched. Smith asked what had been in the syringe, to which Eremus responded heroin.Smith also questioned why a Suboxone wrapper was found her cell and Eremus denied any knowledge of the item. She then submitted to a urine screening, which revealed the presence of codeine, morphine, 6 acetyl morphine, oxycodone, oxymorphone, methamphetamine, amphetamine, methamphetamine metabolite, alpha hydroxy alprazolam and alprazolam in her system.Anyone with information should contact Nesquehoning police at 570-669-9111.
