Arrest made in theft incident

An arrest was made in a theft of vehicle incident that occurred last year in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Brian Lee Dietrick, 44, currently an inmate in the state correctional institution at Coal Township, was charged on June 2 with the theft that occurred on Aug. 30, 2014.Troopers said Dietrick stole a 1994 Buick Roadmaster sedan owned by two Girardville residents, in Gordon, sometime between 1 and 9 a.m. He eventually ended up on Brockton Mountain Road in Ryan Township where he crashed vehicle near Front Street.Dietrick then fled the scene leaving the Buick behind. At the time of the incident Dietrick had multiple criminal warrants filed against him from several different law enforcement agencies.Dietrick was located at the Coal Township prison under a fictitious name.He was arraigned on charges of theft of a motor vehicle, and several summary offenses before District Judge Christina Hale, of Frackville. Bail was set at $5,000 unsecured. He was then returned to the state prison where he is being held on other criminal charges.
