Tamaqua Area School Board will lease Rush Elementary to Behavioral Health Associates of Lehighton, which will run a kindergarten through 12 alternative education program for 40 to 45 students. The decision was announced at a board meeting Tuesday night.
Tamaqua gifted and ESL students, about 60, will be bused to West Penn Elementary School.
Rush currently a primary center for kindergarten and first grade.
Those students will attend Tamaqua Elementary School.
