The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources closed the beach at Beltzville State Park in Carbon County to swimming effective Wednesday June 3rd, because of high bacterial counts in water samples from June 1. As a precaution, the beach will remain closed until acceptable water sample results are received. DCNR has posted signs at the beach.
Other activities at Beltzville State Park, such as picnicking, fishing, boating and hiking, are proceeding as usual.
