Student accepted to medical school

Alexandra Stroia, a senior student at Marian Catholic High School, Hometown, has been notified of her acceptance to the Early Admission Program at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. This early acceptance guarantees her a seat at the medical school once she finishes undergraduate studies at an affiliated undergraduate college. In Stroia's case, she has selected Alvernia University as her choice for undergraduate studies. Her acceptance at the Reading based university has also been confirmed.

Once accepted for the early admission program, students must maintain a certain grade point average in order to continue on to medical school, but they are exempt from taking admission exams. The daughter of Luceno and Mary Pat Stroia of Hazle Township has plans to play volleyball at Alvernia."This is a tremendous opportunity for any student and it is a significant honor for Alex and for Marian Catholic High School," according to Marian Principal Sister Bernard Agnes, IHM.
