VFW decorates, holds service at Walnutport Park

Boxes of bows and wreaths were brought from vehicles to decorate the trees and monument area at Walnutport Park in preparation for a Memorial Day service held May 23.

This is an annual project of the Ladies Auxiliary to R.W. Fritzinger VFW Post 7215.The service began with Karen Bandzi, auxiliary president, reading the names of those who died in combat: Robbie Best, Richard Falk, Larry Horner, Allen Mack, Malcolm Serfass and Raymond Fritzinger, for whom the post was named.Chaplain Sue Bortz gave the invocation, asking God "to remember those who lived and died fighting to protect the dignity and freedom of mankind. Let us give them honor and respect. As we remember the departed let us be true soldiers in war and peace. Make us a generation of wisdom, discipline and faith. We pray this in your Holy Name."
