Sherkness has a no-hitter through six frames before giving up a pair of hits and a run in the seventh. The left-handed senior finishes with 12 strikeouts in the contest. The Colts, who earn a 3-1 victory, receive a hit and run scored from both Mike Kmetz and John Patton in the fourth inning. Patton collects two hits in the game and Marian, coached by Charlie Connely, goes on to claim the league title.
