May 26, 1976 Palmerton captures 12 first-place finishes, including three by Steve Kocher, to claim top honors at the revived Carbon County Track and Field Meet. Kocher wins the javelin, discus and shot put and sets a new school record in the shot with a toss of 57-2 . The Blue Bombers also receive multiple wins from Brad Browne (880 and mile) and Roy George (long and triple jumps). Other indivudual winners for Palmerton come from John Havir (440), Clark Wentz (two mile) and Dennis Lentz (pole vault). The meet, which stopped after 1957, was revived to help celebrate the Bicentennial year.
