May 21, 1964 Dave Malkin fires a one-hitter to lead Lansford to a 7-1 Hughie McGeehan League win over Weatherly. Malkin nearly throws a no-hitter, allowing a hit with one out in the seventh inning. The winning pitcher finishes with 14 strikeouts and also contributes two hits, a run and an RBI at the plate. Tom Major belts a three-run homer for the Panthers, coached by Vince Spisak, while Ed Sabol contributes a pair of hits. Gary Druss delivers an RBI triple and John Zubek adds a triple and run scored.
