Vehicle stop leads to arrest of two

A vehicle stop by Mahoning Township police led to the arrest of the driver and a passenger.

On April 4 at 12:05 a.m. township police stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. When officers approached the vehicle they detected an odor of marijuana was coming from inside the car.A blood test on the driver, identified as Alycia Hertzke, of Slatington showed the presence of Delta-9 Carboxy THC. As a result she has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence, and one count each of possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and general lighting requirements.A passenger in the car, Tyler Rogers of Walnutport, has been charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
