Lansford becomes the 16th municipality to support the county's emergency training center grant request.

At their Wednesday council meeting, Carbon County Commissioners' Chairman Wayne Nothstein was on hand to address any questions council might have about the request to support the county's grant application.Councilman Joseph Butrie asked Nothstein about the information he had received about a new communications center being built with this facility.Nothstein said, "The communications center is not moving into the new facility."Councilman Tommy Vadyak asked about the funding of the facility if the grant is not approved.Nothstein said, "The commissioners are seeking multiple grant initiatives."Vadyak said, "This facility cannot be paid for on the backs of the taxpayers."Nothstein's response to that was, "I agree."
