May 12, 1967 Panther Valley's Bill Pilconis sets three meet records and Tamaqua earns a second-place team finish at the annual Southern Division track meet at Pottsville. Pilconis, the only triple-winner at the meet, records new marks in the 120 high hurdles (14.7), 180 low hurdles (20.2) and triple jump (41-7 1/2). PV, which finishes fourth in the team standings, also receives firsts from Bob Thomas (440) and from Bill Kissner (shot put). The Blue Raiders gain first-place medals from John Mateyak (javelin) and George Dunstan (long jump).
