Lansford man pleads guilty in 3 cases

A Lansford man entered guilty pleas in three pending cases in Carbon County court and faces a big restitution bill.

Travis P. Johnson, 35, pleaded to two counts of criminal mischief and one count of harassment.The harassment count stems from an incident on Sept. 26, 2013, in the area of the Miner's Pub in Lansford. Police responded to the area for a report of a stabbing.On scene a witness told officers that Johnson was involved in the incident. He was observed leaving the pub and walking along East Patterson Street. Officers directed him to stop but he did not immediately stop. In a plea agreement, a charge of escape was dropped.The first mischief count stems from a Jan. 12, 2013, incident at the Batter's Box tavern at 10 E. Lehigh St. in Summit Hill. Borough police responded to the bar on a report of a person causing damages inside. Johnson was charged with damaging water pipes and a urinal inside the men's restroom.The second mischief count occurred at Hiles Bros. Car Wash, located at 160 E. North St. in Summit Hill. Police were called there for an incident on Sept. 7, 2013, with damages done to the property. Two counts of mischief and one of loitering and prowling at night were dropped in a plea bargain.President Judge Roger N. Nanovic accepted the pleas and placed Johnson on probation for a total of two years on all counts.Johnson was also ordered to make total restitution stemming from the two mischief cases of $9,094.58. Nanovic ordered Johnson must pay $500 immediately on the restitution, another $1,500 within 30 days to Hile's and pay at least $200 per month on the remaining restitution, with all money due paid by completion of the probation period.In addition, Nanovic ordered Johnson to pay a fine of $300 on the harassment count, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendations for treatment, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation, pay court costs of about $1,000, and have no contact with any of the victims.Johnson was scheduled to go on trial this week on all three cases.
