May 4, 1955 Palmerton sweeps the mile run and also claims the mile relay to help gain a 51 -43 Lehigh Valley League track win over Emmaus. Gordon Nothstein, Cuthbert Smith and Ted Walker go 1-2-3 in the mile while Nothstein also contributes to the relay victory. Paul Sheckler adds a first in the 880 while the Blue Bombers also fare well in the field events. Gerry Rehrig takes the shot put, Les Sweitzer captures the discus, and Bob Costenbader ties for first in the pole vault.
