Man who entered home in women's clothes gets ARD

A man who entered a home wearing women's clothing and startled the female occupant was placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program Monday by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic.

If a person successfully completes all the conditions of the program for first-time offenders, their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.William Robert Johnson, 52, of Gilbert, Monroe County, was placed on a charge of criminal trespass filed by state police at Lehighton.Troopers said Johnson entered the home of a woman along Lower Smith Gap Road in Lower Towamensing Township on Jan. 15. The female victim was in an upstairs bedroom.Johnson entered the home, troopers allege, and went upstairs, where he startled the woman. She asked who he was and told him to leave. Johnson was wearing women's clothing at the time, and left the home. The woman was able to get the license plate of his vehicle, troopers noted.Nanovic placed Johnson in the program for a year and assessed him $450 for the cost of the program. He also ordered Johnson to get a mental health evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment.
