Gryzik announces candidacy for Panther Valley board

Wayne V. Gryzik of Summit Hill has announced he is seeking a seat on the Panther Valley School Board.

A graduate of Panther Valley, he did undergraduate and graduate studies at Lehigh and Luzerne Community colleges, the Reading Police Academy and the College of Notre Dame, Maryland.A native of the Panther Valley, Gryzik began a multifaceted career by attaining the distinction of a master carpenter and later became a commissioned state law enforcement officer, working for the Pennsylvania Game Commission and as an officer for Lansford Borough.The discipline of his profession provided him the opportunity to teach secondary and adult education throughout Carbon, Lehigh and Northampton counties, as well as in Delaware and Maryland. Gryzik was a proctor for the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute for teacher/instructor certification, certified by the National Center for Construction Education and Research as a teacher, providing teacher supervision for student achievement and to the enhancement of standardized curriculum."I offer a depth of experience which should be fundamentally required when asking voters for a seat on the school board," Gryzik said. "Skill sets such as teaching, student and school achievement, supervisory responsibilities, management organizational skills, budget evaluation and development, long-term planning and working to build coalitions with communities, public officials and private industry, are the cornerstone of my campaign efforts."I believe I can help the students and taxpayers of the district. I want transparency in governance, a halt to outsourcing jobs, keeping our tax dollars in the school district and raising our academic placement level, in addition to offering a rewarding academic and social environment for students and all citizens of the Panther Valley."Gryzik is asking the voters of the Panther Valley to consider his candidacy as one with the experience to meet the challenges of the future, as well as working to eliminate property tax burdens by seeking nontraditional revenue measures to fund the district's needs.He was married to the late Mary Gallagher of Coaldale and has two children, a daughter Lisa and grandson Zachary of Summit Hill, and a son Jeffrey in Berkley, California.
