Pool passes

Applications for season passes to the H.D. Buehler Memorial (Bungalow) Pool in Tamaqua are now available at several area locations. Opening day will be June 3 at 11:30 a.m. No season or daily passes will be available that day.Steeply discounted rates for Tamaqua Area School District residents are made available through the generosity of the John E. Morgan Foundation. Rates will remain the same as last year.Completed applications are to be taken to the borough hall.To ensure having your pass by opening day, have your application completed and submitted to the borough by April 30.For more information, call 570-668-3444 or 668-0300.Library book clubThe Tamaqua Public Library's next monthly book discussion for adults will be at 6 p.m. April 27.This month's selection is "Everything I Never Told You," written by Celeste Ng. The book revolves around a teenage girl, Lydia Lee, and her interracial family. The library is located at 30 S. Railroad St.'Pinocchio' auditionsThe Tamaqua Area Community Theatre will be holding auditions for the upcoming production of "Pinocchio." The auditions will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. April 25 and April 26 at the Tamaqua Community Art Center, 125 Pine St., Tamaqua.Actors between the ages of 6 and 21 are needed. tamaquaareacommunitytheatre@gmail.com.Hunger walkThe Tamaqua Area Faith Fellowship Network will sponsor a "Hunger Walk" on May 3 to help local families in need.The walk will be the culmination of Hunger Weekend, when organizations, businesses, church groups and individuals will be collecting food and funds to benefit the food banks at the Tamaqua Salvation Army, Primitive Methodist Church and Trinity United Church of Christ.The walk will begin and end at the Tamaqua Family Practice parking lot on South Railroad Street. www.taffn.org.St. Peter's UnionSunday worship services are held at 9 a.m. in St. Peter's Union Church in Mantzville. Sunday school will meet at 10:15 a.m.Also on Sunday, the Confirmation class will meet at 11:30 a.m.; Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadets and Cub Scouts all meet at 6 p.m.Activities for next week include: Monday, church board meeting at 6 p.m.; Tuesday, prayer group meets at 5 p.m., junior choir practice at 7 p.m., senior choir meets at 7:30 p.m., Women of St. Peter's meets at 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday, DEVO youth group will participate in the Emmaus Walk.Zion LewistownPastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service in Zion Church in the Lewistown Valley.
