April 14, 1958 Morgan Haak tosses a one-hitter to lead Jim Thorpe to a 6-1 Mountain League victory over White Haven. Haak allows just a third-inning single and strikes out eight over his seven innings of work. The Olympians, coached by Jack Heycock, give their hurler an early lead by plating five runs in the first inning. Charlie McHugh's two-run single is the key hit in that opening frame. Thorpe also receives a hit and run scored from Connie Bincarosky, Bud Flyte, Gary Hiller and Tom Romanisko.
