Lehigh County crash involves 5 vehicles

A chain-reaction crash at 9 a.m. April 13 in the 8200 block of Schantz Road in Upper Macungie Township involved five vehicles, including one driven by a New Tripoli woman.

Township police said Dennis Fink, 59, of Ephrata, was driving a 2015 Hino delivery truck when he was distracted in the vehicle and was not able to stop once he realized traffic had stopped in front of him.Police said the truck slammed into the rear of a 2006 GMC Savana operated by Daniel Miller, 37, of Breinigsville, which struck the rear of a 2008 Toyota Prius, operated by H. Bradley Fisher, 56, of New Holland, which struck the rear of a 2009 Toyota Tundra operated by David Ferguson, 61, of Kutztown, which hit the rear of a 2005 Subaru Outback driven by Bridger Wengryn, 35, of New Tripoli.Police said Miller was injured and transported to the hospital in the Cetronia ambulance.The delivery truck sustained moderate damages while Miller's Savana and Fisher's Prius both received major damages. All three of those vehicles were towed from the scene. Ferguson's vehicle sustained moderate damage and Wengryn's Outback received minor damages. Neither of those vehicles needed to be towed.Police said Fink will be cited for causing the accident.
