April 11, 2005 Kory Bates has a good day at the plate and on the mound to help Tamaqua gain a 5-2 Schuylkill League win over North Schuylkill. Bates tosses a six-hitter and strikes out 10 batters to earn the pitching win. He also collects two hits, one a three-run homer to lead the Blue Raiders offensively. The winners, coached by Jeff Reading, receive three hits and a pair of runs from Jim Bumbulsky while Ryan Gerber chips in with a hit and run scored.
